ECOSA: a new regional seed association is borned

The Committee Meeting on the Establishment of the ECO Seed Association was held on March 14-16, 2009 in Antalya. The delegates from the ECO Member States except Turkmenistan and representatives of FAO and ICARDA as well as of ECO Secretariat attended the Meeting.
National Seed Associations from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkey have applied to be founding members.
3 associate members (seed companies) from Iran and Turkey are founders too.

Winter Nurcery in Senegal

After a decade of efforts, the production of seeds in Senegal has reached a significant development.
More than 50 isolation plots of sunfower and maize production has been sawned and harvested in 2008-09.
Women were a major part of the success with the professional support of Aly DIOP and Gérard WARTRAUX.

Agro Consultants is a network of consultants all graduated from high level agrotechnology or agrobusiness European Institutes or Universities.
They operate as independant free-lances or managers of small units entirely devoted to consulting work.
Most of them have a previous experience as executive managers of divisions or subsidiaries of large agro business companies.

Afghanistan National Seed Association

The Afghanistan National Seed Association hold is founding General Assembly Meeting Saturday 18 October 2008.
The board of 9 directors has been elected.
More than 100 people have attended the meeting and 32 members have joined the association including two associared members.

The board of directors has elected his president: Mr. Saidajan ABDIANI during his meeting 20 October 2008.
